Strategic Thinking

Posted on November 28, 2025November 30, 2025 By Richard

It is said by whom I do not know, “not all those who wander are lost”, or something like that. Have you ever been hit by the lust to wander, to pack up and just start over? Lord knows, I have and it’s not pretty. You start stressing out about things you have no control over, you start seeing problems that were invisible but now you understand those are the reasons you just want to leave.  It’s hard to wander when you have roots.  But are those roots starting to rot? Are you now seeing the rot in the world around you?  True, there are reasons to stay such as family and loved ones, financial security, convenience and the like. Security in familiar surroundings and jobs you do, but how much is the gilded prison we hold dear worth? Does your chest hurt at night, does your mind race when you turn out the lights? If yes to any of these, your gilded prison is rusting and the dreams you had in your youth are nothing more than ashes of a glorious dream.  Let’s consider some wisdom, shall we?

In the end, the coffin has room for only one.

Tired of stress, start traveling and make stress catch up with you.

The stars blink not from the light they give but blink from our perspective, create a new perspective.

When you look in the mirror does the enemy stare back?

Wander not, for the soul has a home and that home has feet.

The old man looked in the mirror and cried, where have all my dreams been laid to rest? What happened, how did time past so fast? In the wrinkles on the face, the old man knew, he had squandered his fortune, the fortune of youth. The child in the mirror was gone and a lonely old man was there, waiting for the grave.  Then a strange voice came upon him, time has not claimed you yet, grab thy gear and crash the gates of insecurity, if time is to claim you, let it be tired when it catches up.

When those around you start talking behind your back when you start following your dreams, they are doing so because you are not following their nightmare. They are behind you for a reason.

Someone trying to knock you down, they are just trying to get you down to their level.  Just laugh and enjoy the spectacle. No need to get in the gutter.

Pick a location, an event and own it, go to it, enjoy yourself, when people criticize you because they never heard of it, consider telling them to get out their bubble, your life is not in their bubble.  Your life is not what other people make it, it is what we make of life. You don’t wait for other people to give you something, you don’t wait for opportunity to knock, you go look for it, grab it by the collar and yell, “You are coming with me!).  We are tired of the status quo, tired of the daily grind, tired of the same old thing every day. Tired of people waiting for you to do something to take credit for it, or talk behind your back.

In the end, if you got anything from this article, find a ladder, get out of the hole life has dug for you and wander. By the way bring a GPS.
